The coin collection challenge was fun-filled
and went smoothly with
Marie Ullocan Buking orchestrating the activity. Within one hour, ninety
seven thousand five hundred cents or nine hundred seventy five dollars
[$975.00] was collected.That just proves
that even the little things like those coins just scattered around your
tables, drawers, window sills, dressers and the nooks and corners of
your house, when given importance such as serving a good cause can add
up to a kingly sum.
Coin collection challenges also give everybody
a chance to come out and be counted in fund raising endeavors by peers,
classmates, friends, etc.; and afford little room for someone to feel
left out in humanitarian efforts they want so much to be part of but
hesitate to join because of monetary limitations.
Giving importance to a coin is just as good as
giving the coin giver importance, a sense of belonging, a sense of
participation.
All the above and more were very evident in the
body language, the fun, and the excitement depicted in the
pictorials of the
SMSS alumni and friends coin challenge
during the August 17-19, 2007 New York Conference. The monetary result?
- a whooping $975.00 in less than an hour of fun-filled activity.
The bonding amongst peers, classmates, friends
as well as the satisfaction of accomplishment resulting from the coin
collection challenge can not, of course, be measured in monetary terms.
